Obituary: Dana Jean Marshall

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dana Jean Marshall passed away at the age of 82 in her home in Naples, Fla., on June 5, 2012.

Jean, as she liked to be called, and her twin sister Dona (Jane) were born on Christmas Day 1929 to Dan and Freda Page in Eldorado. The family moved to Detroit when Jean was 13 years old where she lived and raised her family before moving to Florida in 1993.

When she moved to Florida in 1993 she joined Community Congregation Church, where she has been an active member serving on many committees and most recently as manager of the church&#39;s thrift shop, Semi-Retired Treasures. In 2010 she moved to Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh where she and Jane got to know and touched the hearts of many.

She is survived by her identical twin, and best friend in life, Dona Jane Swineford; her children, Dana Downs, Dan Marshall (Randy) and Donna Wenzel (Paul); grandchildren, Kristin Downs, Stephanie Downs, Sara (Wenzel) Novak, Stephen Wenzel, Scott Hall and Michael Hall; and great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Aaron and Nicholas Makara (Downs) and Bailey Wenzel; and her much loved poodle, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Freda Page; her husband, Ray C. Marshall; and her daughter, Debra K. McGarvah.

A memorial service in Jean&#39;s honor is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at Community Congregational Church, 15300 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, Fla. 34110. The Rev. Tom Lewis will be officiating. There will also be a service at Aston Gardens Community Center at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Vitas Hospice Care, 4980 Tamiami Trail N., Suite 102, Naples, Fla. 34103 or Semi-Retired Treasures at Community Congregational Church, 15300 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, Fla. 34110.
