Obituary: Doyle Houston

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Doyle Houston, 95, of 920 Veterans Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at his residence.

He was born in Eldorado on Nov. 27, 1916, to the late Robert Edmon and Lyda (Fletcher) Houston. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Freda. He married the former Wanda Watson on July 19, 1990, and she survives in Eldorado.

Doyle worked for and retired Dairy Brand-Bordens as a delivery man. He attended the Eldorado Church of God.

Besides his wife Wanda, Doyle is survived by his stepchildren, Rendall Irwin of Eldorado, Sherry Irwin of Eldorado, Connie Harrelson of Evansville, Ind. and Mary Hewricksmeyer of Brownstown. Also surviving are nieces, Janet (Ed) Penrod of Eldorado, Shirley Leaner of Harrisburg, Ann Respondek of Eldorado, Barbara Gruppa of Harrisburg; and four stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Irwin, Ray Lake, Matt Lake, Laura Walker; and six great-stepgrandchildren, Lilly, Ava, Oliver, Dalton, Macey and Emily.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Terry Houston; and a sister, Olive Woodruff.

Funeral services for Doyle will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at the Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mays officiating. Burial will be in Dodd Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
