CHS JV shuts out V-G, 36-0

<span>VIENNA - Pierson Lyons scored two touchdowns, and the Chester junior varsity football team racked up 274 yards rushing in a 36-0 win over Vienna-Goreville on Monday.</span>

<span>Lyons scored on runs of 14 and 28 yards for the Yellow Jackets (2-1), who held a 14-0 lead at halftime. Jack Hathaway, Calvin Clendenin and Clayton Richelman had the other scores for Chester.</span>

<span>Eathan Thompson led the Yellow Jacket rushing attack with 82 yards on four carries, while Brady Kelkhoff had 74 yards on 10 carries. Jack Hathaway contributed 57 yards on eight carries, while Lyons finished with 48 yards on three carries.</span>

<span>Scott Kozora (11 yards on four carries) and Clendenin (minus-2 yards on two carries) also contributed to Chester's rushing total.</span>

<span>Clendenin was 1-for-3 passing with a seven-yard touchdown to Richelman and one interception.</span>

<span>Chester will host Sesser-Valier-Waltonville-Woodlawn next Monday at W.O. Smith Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.</span>
