VOLLEYBALL: NCOE ends Lady Falcons' season in semifinals

The Lady Falcons' volleyball season came to an end on Tuesday night at the hands of Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, as the Christopher Regional's highest-seeded team knocked off Elverado 25-15, 25-8.

The Lady Falcons started the match off with an 8-3 run, but couldn't keep the momentum on their side.

"We started out on fire," said EHS head coach Donette Wheatley. "We were killing the ball and had the momentum, then the big girls got warmed up. They hit the ball where we weren't. We'd move up and out, they'd hit it long and in the middle. They were very good."

Tori Ehlers led Elverado with 4 kills, Allie Whittington had 3. Baylie McClanahan led the team in digs with 3 and assists with 4. The Lady Falcons finished their season with an overall record of 12-11.

"I was very proud of our performance, we definitely did not quit," Wheatley said. "You wish seasons with a great group of kids would never end, but we finished with a winning record and second in the conference. I'll take it."

NCOE will meet Christopher in the championship match on Thursday night.
