Region's officials want more say on casino

Officials from more than a dozen communities asked why Middleboro should set the course of the region's future in regard to the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe's proposed casino.

Lakeville Selectman Derek A. Maksy questioned why only a little more than 3,000 Middleboro voters should make such a monumental decision when there are 250,000 voters who should weigh in on the issue with a referendum vote.
