Obituary: Charles Hubert McSparin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles Hubert McSparin, 82, of Eldorado, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Ferrell Hospital.

Charles was born in Stonefort on Sept. 19, 1929, a son of the late Rhesa Alice (Barger) and Ezra Hubert McSparin.

He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Eldorado.

He was retired from McDonnell Douglas.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was the husband of Hilma (Werling) McSparin, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by a daughter, Naomi Ruth (Melvin) Hall of Galatia; a son, John Hubert McSparin of Eldorado; grandchildren, Aaron James (Jennifer) Hall of Eldorado, Andrew Charles "Rachel" Hall of Du Quoin, Meagan Ruth Hall of Galatia, Timothy Hubert McSparin of Eldorado and Sarah Christyne McSparin of Harrisburg; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua James Hall of Eldorado, Caleb Stanley Hall of Eldorado and Lani Lea Nicole of Du Quoin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Charles McSparin; and six siblings, Ewing McSparin, Ed McSparin, Bonnie Dahfarra, Nina Crowne, Oren Martin, Syble M. Passmore.

Funeral services will be at Gospel Assembly Church in Eldorado at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, with the Rev. Dewayne Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at the funeral home.
