Obituary: Larry Robert Yates

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Larry Robert Yates, 73, Harrisburg, passed away on March 2, 2012, in Gibsonton, Fla.

Larry was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Harrisburg to Robert H. Yates and Phyllis C. (Wilson) Yates. Larry served his country by joining the Air Force. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman also enjoyed NASCAR and the horses. Larry spent the last few months in Florida enjoying the warm Florida weather and spending his days fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Yo" and Phyllis "Bessie" Yates; his wife, Linda (Brinkley) Yates; brother-in-law, David Pait; and four uncles, Charlie, Frank, James Wilson and Gene Yates.

Larry leaves behind to treasure his memory, his son, Larry L. Yates and a daughter, Robin Rivers both of Harrisburg; sister Dorris Guylene Pait; five grandchildren, Aaron Yates, Stephanie (Chris) Carrick, Ryan Yates, Dylan Yates and Derek Rivers; an aunt, Jane Rose (Chuck) Holland, several nieces and nephews; six great-grandchildren; and cousins; and many very close friends.

Larry and his family requested instead of flowers donations to be made in his name to either Life Path Hospice or the Harrisburg Tornados victim&#39;s relief fund. A grave side service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012. The gravesite is located in the back of Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
