Obituary: Jerry Dale 'Tub' Gulley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jerry Dale "Tub" Gulley, Carrier Mills, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at the V.A. Nursing Center, Marion, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1940, in Saline County to the late Roy and Elma June Horton Gulley. He was married to the former Brenda Modglin on Aug. 1, 1967, and she survives. Tub was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, worked for the Sahara Coal Company and was a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; a son, Michael (Suzanne) Gulley of Carrier Mills; a daughter, Beth Ann Gulley of Carrier Mills; three grandchildren, Dustin Gulley, Raven Taylor Marie Gulley and Derrick Fletcher; and his mother-in-law, Nina Modglin of Harrisburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Wendell, Denzil and Larry Gulley; and four sisters, Gertie McClusky, Novetta Clarke, Mildred Pate and Norma Diefenbach.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, in the Macedonia Baptist Church in Mitchellsville with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Colbert Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church after 9 a.m. Thursday.
