Prep Golf: Harrisburg tames Lions

Kansas State signee Jacob Eklund took medalist honors for Carterville, firing a 34 on his home course, but it wasn't enough as Harrisburg edged the Lions 156-173 last Thursday at Crab Orchard Golf Club.

Ben Fowler carded a 36 for the Bulldogs, while Garrett Jenkins had his best round of the season, shooting a 37. Patrick Bittle finished with a 39 and Bryce Beal, Camden Schiff and Jacob Mills all had 44's.

Dylan Valerius shot a 39 for Carterville, while Dominic Nation finished with a 43. Dave Robbins rounded out the four-person scoring for the Lions with a 57.

HHS Girls Fall To Lions

Alexa Burtis fired a 43 for Harrisburg in a 206-237 loss to Carterville late last week.

Other scores for Harrisburg included a 52 from Skylar Street, a 66 from Alli Ferrell and a 70 from Annabella Robinson.
