OBITUARY: Glendal Taylor

Glendal Taylor, age 86 of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, in Harrisburg.

Glendal was born on Thursday, April 5, 1928, in Harrisburg, to the late Oscar and Alta (Angelly) Taylor. He married Dolly McAnally on Sunday, June 3, 1951, and she survives in Harrisburg. Glendal served in the United States Navy for six years. He then began working out of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local No. 80 in Detroit, Mich. Glendal attended the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg.

In addition to his wife Dolly, of 63 years, Glendal is survived by four children, Gary Taylor and wife Cathy of Keego Harbor, Mich., Alan Taylor and wife Denise of Murrieta, Calif., David Taylor and significant other, Mary of Fenton, Mich., and Deborah Windey of Milford, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Melissa Vega, Mike Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Nathaniel Taylor, Alexander Taylor, Derric Taylor, Devin Taylor and Shawn Windey; and several nieces and nephews.

Glendal was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Christine Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and cemetery.
