OBITUARY: Lois F. Hammond

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lois F. Hammond, 100, of Eldorado, passed away at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado on April 7, 2012.

She was born in Raleigh on Feb. 9, 1912, to the late Charley and Ellen (Baker) Oglesby. She married Elmer O. Hammond on March 30, 1933, and he preceded her in death in June of 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of the Star General Baptist Church for over 50 years. She also was a member of the Eldorado Golden Circle where she served on the board.

Survivors include one son; Elmer L. (Jean) Hammond of Temple Hill, three daughters; Deloris (Joe) Woods of Eldorado, Clara (Gary) Jungles of Joliet and Mary (Terry) Colbert of Dyersburg, Tenn. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 11 1/2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild; Scott Jungles, one great-granddaughter; Erin Ford, and a brother; Lloyd Oglesby.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home with Scott Pilkington officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
