Cowboys to climb down off horses for special olympians
Cowboys will come down off their horses for two hours this Saturday morning to put together a very special rodeo for Special Olympics kids across Southern Illinois.
More than 80 challenged children will get to ride horses, rope a steer, ride the mechanical bull and experience the hijinx and caring of the National Federation of Professional Bull Riders Association rodeo clown.
The rodeo will open at 10 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and the morning will just get better and better after that.
NFPBA founder Clint Jackson helped raise a Special Olympics child and this is one way the cowboys could give back to Southern Illinois.
Large crowds are expected both Friday and Saturday nights of the bull riding nationals at the Southern Illinois Center, then will enjoy good times at after party places like Alongi's, one of the bull riding championship sponsors.
