Obituary: Jeanne Mitchell Henking
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jeanne Mitchell Henking, 89, of Marion, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home, where she was a resident for the past couple of years.
Jeanne was born on Jan. 26, 1923, in Decatur to the late Benjamin and Mary (Mitchell) Gullett. She married Charles Henking on Jan. 22 1972, and he survives in Marion.
Jeanne was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg, P.E.O. and Kappa Alpha Theta of the University of Illinois at Champaign. She loved her three dogs, Molly, Katie and Maggie.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Charles; niece, Ann Gerwin of Cincinnati, Ohio; niece, Jeanne Hardt of Mount Kisco, N.Y.; nephew, Douglass Wham of Arlington, Va.; and a brother-in-law, William Wham of Centralia.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary Ann Wham.
Private funeral services will be held by Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society or the donor's choice and may be sent to the funeral home.
