Indians notebook: Wedge knows firsthand about that wicked knuckleball

There are certain duties for which catchers should be paid time-and-a-half. The foul tip off the wrist. The ball that bounces off the plate and smacks into ... err ... an unprotected area of the body. The bat that comes all the way around and tears off the mask. And, of course, catching a knuckleball pitcher.

Indians manager Eric Wedge was playing catcher for Boston's Triple-A Pawtucket farm club in 1995 when the Red Sox obtained knuckleballer Tim Wakefield - also Boston's starter in Tuesday's Game 4 of the American League Championship Series.
