Lenora J. Craig
STONEFORT - Lenora J. Craig of Gastonia, North Carolina, formerly of Stonefort, passed away peacefully with her son by her side at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was born in rural Williamson County on her grandfather's farm on Oct. 19, 1936, to Guy and Reba Segers Evetts.
Lenora was raised by her grandparents, Bert and Eddia Segers, and those were some of the best memories of her life. This was a time of Depression and war, but it made her a stronger and better person. She was a part of the greatest generation.
She met the love of her life, Coy Craig, and they were married in Benton on Oct. 28, 1954. He preceded her in death in December of 1975.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin Craig of Harrisburg, Keith Craig of Carrier Mills and Kristopher Craig of Gastonia, North Carolina; sisters, Pat (Ron) Schriefer of Metropolis, Rosemary Evetts of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Joann Evetts of Tacoma Washington; many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and, most of all, the love of her life, her only grandson, Coy Craig.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Rick Legereit, Capt. Danny Legereit, Aaron Legereit and Roger Evetts.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. The family invites those who knew Lenora to come and share memories of a special woman, mother and friend.
