Charles Wesley 'Wes' Porter
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles Wesley "Wes" Porter, 51, of Shawneetown, died Friday, May 14, 2010, in Louisville, Ky., after a sudden illness.
Wes as most knew him was born in Great Falls, Mont., on Aug. 18, 1958, to Charles and Evelyn (Shepard) Porter. He graduated from Ridgway High School and served his country in the U.S. Army.
Wes was always a polite and kind person; he was always had a contagious smile for you. He loved music and playing pool. He was very well-read and was the person you could always ask the question you were stumped on. Wes was a good father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Wes is survived by his mother, Evelyn Porter of Ridgway; a daughter, Sonya Bonneville Niehaus; three sisters, Lynn Boulds of Ridgway, Myra Willis of Ridgway and Kim Tipton of Ridgway; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; and a brother-in-law, Jim Boulds.
Services for Wes will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway with Larry Reynolds giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after noon on Monday. Interment will be in the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
