Obituary: Elva Droit
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elva Droit, 92, of Galatia, died 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ebnezer Cemetery near Galatia. The Rev. Dean Guye and the Rev. Kevin Peyton will officiate.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1919, in Saline County to the late Charles and Stella (Sprague) Milligan. She married Paul R. Droit on Aug. 29, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1990.
She was a very active member in the Union Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and held many offices. She was also a former member of the Farm Bureau Womens Committee and a former member of the Good Neighbor Club. She also worked as a riveter during World War II, helping to build the aircraft for the war.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Peyton of Harrisburg; a son, Charles (Dee Dee) Droit of Galatia; a sister, Lucille (Wright) Cotter of Galatia; a brother, Vernon (Marilyn) Milligan of Crete; four grandchildren, Jimmy Lee (Angie Gibbs) Peyton, Michael Peyton, Julie (Gordon) Murray and Billy Paul (Cindy) Droit; 10 great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaylee and Gabriel Droit, Lindsey and Christian Murray, Jordan, Logan and Kenzie Crosslin and Isabelle and Jalynn Gibbs.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Emery Milligan and Emerson Milligan; and an infant sister.
