Billy Wayne Rice
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Billy Wayne Rice, 51, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009. Bill, the son of Clarence and Joanne Thomason Rice, was born in Harrisburg on July 11, 1958. He was married to Beth Davis.
Bill was the owner and operator of Juanita's Cleaners, a charter member of the Harrisburg Town and Country Lions Club, a volunteer firefighter, presently serving on the Harrisburg City Council as police and fire commissioner, a member of the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church and was an active member of the community.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Beth Rice; two daughters, Christan Rice and Corie Rice; one son, Carter Rice; and granddaughter, Sadie Schwartz, all of Harrisburg. Also surviving Bill are aunts, Betty (Bill) Smith, Judy (Ed) Hayes, Cathy (Bob) Haney, Mary Jean (Jim) Woolard and Reita (Don) Bradshaw; one uncle, J.A. "Buck" Rice; and father-in-law, Thornton Davis of Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg with the Rev. David Estep officiating and burial in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church. The J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
