OBITUARY: Gerald Frank Mitchell
Gerald Frank Mitchell, 81, resident of Eldorado, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at the Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.
Frank was born Feb. 25, 1932, near Equality, to the late Halton and Mary Margaret (Barnett) Mitchell. He married the former Betty J. Choisser who survives. Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a bulldozer operator at No. 6 Sahara when he retired. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Eldorado.
In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by two sons, Jerry (Brenda) Mitchell of Eldorado, Kent Mitchell of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Lisa B. Mitchell of Chester; two brothers, Joe (Katherine) Mitchell of Ballwin, Mo., Carl (Linda) Mitchell of Surprise, Ariz.; two sisters, Molly Cook of Eldorado, Peggy (Alan) Jurgensen of Elgin; and a grandson, Jared Mitchell of Eldorado.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Mitchell; and a sister, Cora Nell Raymer. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday to service time. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Union Grove Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
