Obituary: Edward Diefenbach

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edward Diefenbach, 80, of Eldorado, passed away 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Fountainview Nursing Home.

Edward was born in Stonefort on Oct. 28, 1931, a son of the late Clara (Brandon) and Lewis Diefenbach.

He worked as a coal miner prior to retirement and was a member of the Raleigh Masonic Lodge.

Edward is survived by two daughters, Darla Barger of Eldorado and Tara Carney, of Eldorado; a sister, Eva Hancock of Carrier Mills; two brothers, Norman Diefenbach of Carrier Mills and Bertis Diefenbach of Benton; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Diefenbach; a daughter, Kathryn Diefenbach; a grandson, Josh Diefenbach; three brothers, William Diefenbach, Walter L. Diefenbach and Henry J. Diefenbach; four sisters, Nina Macintosh, Jeanette Clayton, Louise Woolard and Myrtle Ashway.

Graveside memorial service at will be held 2 p.m. at Palestine Cemetery in Carrier Mills on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Bro. Aaron Phelps will officiate.
