OBITUARY: David Earl "P.D." Prather
David Earl "P.D." Prather, 76, lifelong resident of Eldorado, died 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at his residence.
David was born on July 13, 1937, to Dan Prather and Edna (Kingston) Prather, who preceded him in death.
David is survived by his children: Brent (Sandy) Prather of Ridgway, Susan Lori (David) Brooks of Shawneetown and Brad (Missy) Rigsby of Haubstadt, Ind.; and a sister: Carolyn Boulds of Eldorado.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brandon (Lisa) Moore of Junction, Amber White of Norris City, Patrick and Lexi Rigsby of Haubstadt, Ind., and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Moore.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Kevin (Janie) Boulds of Eldorado, Dennis (Tammy) Boulds of Creal Springs, Brady (Teresa) Boulds of Eldorado, Audree Boulds Harrelson of Eldorado and Brian Boulds of Eldorado.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Prather; baby brother, Donald Prather; a half-sister, Margaret Ann Miley; niece, Denise Boulds; a brother-in-law, J.R. Boulds; and a favorite aunt, Tess Stephenson, formerly of Eldorado.
David was a former employee of Federal Wholesale and Scot Lad Foods. He was a charter member of the Eldorado Men's Club. David never met a stranger. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a guy that always had a joke to tell and loved nothing better than to hear one.
According to David's wishes, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Education Program of the Indiana University School of Medicine of Anatomy in Indianapolis, Ind., as he had previously requested, there will be no services.
