Obituary: Janet Oxford
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Janet Oxford, 71, of Equality, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.
She was born on April 4, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., to Arthur and Margaret "Pat" (Henshaw) Engles. Janet married Otis Oxford on July 2, 1960, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2009.
She was a faithful member of Equality Social Brethren Church. Janet was a retired bookkeeper of Millikin Auto in Shawneetown. She was well known as a wonderful cook and loved to cook for her church, family and friends.
Janet is survived by one daughter, Georgia and Daren Roach of Johnston City; one son, Michael and Sara Oxford of Equality; five grandchildren, Dylan Roach, Erin Roach, Lynzie Summers, Tyler Oxford and Brooklynde Oxford; also, one unborn granddaughter, Jocelyn Marie Oxford who is expected in August.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, L.A. Oxford; and one brother, William G. Matthews.
Visitation for Janet will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the Equality Social Brethren Church with Bro. Bernie Emery officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
