William E. 'Bill' Carter

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. William E. "Bill" Carter, 64, of Eldorado, passed away at 12:31 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Ferrell Hospital.

He was the husband of Brenda Joyce (Wheeler) Carter, they were married March 19, 1964.

William was born in Eldorado on Jan. 25, 1944, the son of the late Lowell Edward and Juanita Virginia (Grisham) Carter.

He worked as a Boilermaker and farmer.

William is survived by a daughter, Virginia F. (Richard) Amberger of Camby, Ind.; two sons, William E. Carter Jr. of Dale and Lowell A. (Dana) Carter of McLeansboro.

He is also survived by grandchildren, R.J. (Jaci) Amberger of Camby, Ind., Heather Amberger of New Minden, William Carter III of Eldorado, Brittany Carter of Eldorado, Colton Carter of McLeansboro and Austin Carter of McLeansboro; two great-grandchildren, Remington Amberger of Camby, Ind., and Cohen Davis of New Minden; and a daughter-in-law, Rita Carter.

William is also survived by two sisters, Sue Devoy of Enfield and Cathy Carter of Eldorado.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Smith and Mary Jane Carter; and one brother, Billy Wayne Carter.

Funeral Services at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.

A Masonic Service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 7 p.m. Friday at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children and may be left at the funeral home.
