OBITUARY: Mary Sirach

Mary Sirach, 69 of West Frankfort, formally of the Harrisburg area, died at 9:10 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2015, in West Frankfort.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Harrisburg. She was born on Aug. 18, 1945, daughter to Stephen and Beulah Bridgewater Pfister in Harrisburg. Mary married John Sirach in 1978 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1994. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg.

She is survived by one daughter: Jonna Murphy and her significant other Jeremy Murphy of West Frankfort; two grandchildren: Jacob and Hailey Murphy; one brother: Tom Pfister of Marion, and one sister: Madonna Cory of Troy, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: David and Bill Pfister.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Kevin Peyton officiating and visitation 9 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral time of 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date in Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
