Obituary: Robert R. 'Bob' Billingsley
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert R. "Bob" Billingsley, 54, of Vienna, formerly of Eldorado passed away at 1:35 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012.
He was born in Eldorado on Oct. 28, 1957, to Wesley Billingsley and the late Mary Ann (Gates) Billingsley. Bob graduated from the Eldorado High School with the class of 1975 and he attended Southeastern Illinois College. He retired from Amax Coal after 20 years and then became a heavy equipment operator of the Operating Engineers Local 318. He was a member of the UMWA. He was employed at the Olmstead Lock and Dam at the time of his death.
Bob enjoyed country music, Pittsburg Steelers football, boating on the Ohio River and time spent with his many friends.
Survivors include his father, Wesley Billingsley of Florida; a sister, Laura Billingsley of Hoyleton; a brother, Larry (Lori) Billingsley of Red Bud; and three nieces, Haley, Presley and Isabel. He is also survived by several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann (Gates) Billingsley; his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Alice Gates; his paternal grandparents, Walter and Muriel Billingsley.
He was also preceded in death by an uncle, John Ed Gates; and an aunt, Nita Davis.
Memorial services for Bob will be held at noon Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time on Saturday.
Memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity and left at the funeral home.
