</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cynthia Lynn Riggs, 42, of Old Shawneetown, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident.

Cindy, as most knew her, was born in Carmi on Jan. 12, 1969, to Charles "Jay" and Donna (McGhee) Barton. She was married to Timothy Riggs on Oct. 20, 2002, who survives.

Cindy was always a happy person full of life and smiles. Her passion in life was her children and family. She also loved her animals, especially Tigger, Queeny and Missy. Cindy was a good mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend; she will be greatly missed.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Timothy Riggs of Old Shawneetown; two sons, Lucas Moore and Jacob Light, both of Old Shawneetown; one daughter, Maria Tipton, of Old Shawneetown; her parents, Charles and Donna Barton of Old Shawneetown; one sister, Betty Windle of Shawneetown; one very special grandchild, Jaycie Warren; and many uncles, aunts and other family members.

Funeral service for Cindy will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown with the Rev. Bob Powell officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until funeral time on Friday. Interment will be in the Westwood Cemetery.
