OBITUARY: The Rev. Terry L. Taborn Sr.

The Rev. Terry L. Taborn Sr., 59, of Harrisburg, passed away 4:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Harrisburg Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1953, in Carrier Mills, the son of the late Lorenzo and Christine Gibbs Taborn. He married Diane Chambers March 2, 1979, and she survives.

Terry retired as a field gauger for Country Mark Co-op in Mt. Vernon, Ind. He was the pastor at the Landmark House of Praise in Carrier Mills. He was ordained through the United Pentecostal Church. Terry was a kind and caring person and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Corey Michael Taborn and Terry Lee Taborn Jr.; four daughters, Terra Christina Taborn, Cecelia Marie Taborn, Aniha Marie Taborn and Kayla Diane Taborn, all of Harrisburg; five brothers, Kelly and Caroline Taborn of Fulton, Ky., Donl and Carol Taborn of Carrier Mills, Bruce Taborn of Carrier Mills, Dean and Debbie Taborn of Carbondale and David Taborn of Carrier Mills; two sisters, Ruth Ann Taborn of Carrier Mills and Ramona Williams of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Donovan William Lee Stewart and Isaiah Michael Lee Taborn; and an aunt, Pauline Berry of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Tyrone Taborn, Dahl Taborn and Orville Taborn; two sisters, Marlece Crittendon and Pauline Curry; and one granddaughter, De dranelle Donald.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Landmark House of Praise Church in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Bob Prather and the Rev. Bobby Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Landmark House Of Praise Church in Carrier Mills from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
