Hazel Williams

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Hazel Williams, 90, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1920, in Equality to the late Morrison and Mary Francis (Colbert) Justice. On Sept. 21, 1940, she married Bill Williams and he preceded her in death in 1994.

She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg, and she attended the last few years at Buena Vista Community Church. She was a cook for many years in the Harrisburg school system, and enjoyed so much being a volunteer auxiliary member at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Surviving family members include her five children, Carolyn (Leon) Stull of Harrisburg, Larry Williams of Harrisburg, Dorris (Jack) McEvoy of Harrisburg, Betty (Steve) Brown of Newburgh, Ind., and Bob (Theresa) Williams of Petersburg, Ind.; sister, Maycel Welch of Bowling Green, Ky.; brother, Dale Justice of Bethalto; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Ome, James, Howard, Robert and Bill Justice; one baby sister, Betty Lou Justice; grandson, Zachary Robert Williams; and daughter-in-law, Janet Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Steve Brown and the Rev. G.E. Coultas will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Equality. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, and from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg or Buena Vista Community Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
