Lowell C. Vanzandt

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lowell C. Vanzandt, 71, Dahlgren, formerly of Mulkeytown, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Pastor Dave Romoser officiating. Burial will be in Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the funeral home.

He was born in St. Louis on Nov. 22, 1938, to the late Omer and Clara (Miller) Vanzandt. He was married to the former Carolyn Parrott.

Lowell proudly served his country with service time in Air Force, parts manager with various John Deere dealers and 15 years with the postal service. He was a member of the American Legion in Mount Vernon.

He is survived by a son, Michael (Michelle) Vanzandt of Troy; a grandchild, Tristan Michael Vanzandt; a brother, Lyle Vanzandt of Du Quoin; a sister, Joy Seibert of Madisonville, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Sheri (Scott) Phillips of Tamaroa; and several nieces and nephews, Lisa, Jeff, Zach and Carli.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
