Prep Softball: Harrisburg handles Galatia in 5 innings

Harrisburg improved to 3-0 on the season with a 10-0 win over Galatia late last week.

Harrisburg had four players with multiple hits on the day as Kaylee King was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Kerrigan Payne went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Abby Stacey and Sidney Neal were each 2-for-3 with Neal driving in one run and McKenzie Boyd drove in a team-high three runs after going 1-for-4. Layla Borders was 1-for-3 with two RBI.

After the Bulldogs put up three runs in the first inning, Harrisburg added a run in the second and two more in the third. The Bulldogs closed the game out with four runs in the fifth inning.

Kerrigan Payne picked up her third straight win the circle as the Harrisburg senior went five innings and faced 16 batters, allowing just one hit, while striking out seven.

Harrisburg will host Pope County on Wednesday and will take on Plano at Center Field on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs then welcome Eldorado on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and will host a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. against Galatia and Meridian.
