Mary Eileen (Moore) Howell Marks
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Eileen (Moore) Howell Marks, 90, of Royalton, passed away at 5:43 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at Herrin Hospital surrounded by her family.
Eileen was born April 25, 1920, in Royalton, the daughter of Guy Gustus and Daisy Darling (Rose) Moore.
She married Robert H. Howell Aug. 28, 1937, in Paducah, Ky. He preceded her in death May 1, 2003. Together they shared 65 years of marriage.
She married Frank Marks Nov. 27, 2004, in Royalton. He survives in Royalton.
She is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Harold Ewell of Galatia and Robin and L.D. Koehl of West Frankfort; a son, Randall Howell of Valparaiso, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Janice Dardeen of Royalton; eight grandchildren, Robert Bryan Howell of Royalton, Tammy L. Eastwood of West Frankfort, David A. Ewell of Herrin, Jon Ewell of Galatia, Danielle Butler of Las Vegas, Nev., Alison DeSomer of West Frankfort, Sean Howell of Sesser and Tara Brauner of Marion; eight great-grandchildren, Shayne Howell of Anna, Lindsey Eastwood, Jared Eastwood, Morgan Howell, Raelyn Howell all of West Frankfort, Zander Brauner of Marion, Dylan Butler of Las Vegas, Nev., and baby Joshua Brauner due May 5, 2010, or sooner; one great-great-granddaughter; three stepgrandchildren, Michael Grant of West Frankfort, Kelly Dardeen of Royalton and Tammy Lentz of Carterville; three great-stepgrandchildren, Zayne Grant of West Frankfort and Brennan and Macy Lentz of Carterville; two sisters, Virginia Gulledge of Hurst and Lucille Kammler of Energy; a brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Betty Howell of DeSoto; a sister-in-law, Nettie Jenkins of Carterville; a brother-in-law, G.B. Morris of Crab Orchard; a brother-in-law, Lonnie Marks of Cambria; a sister-in-law, Doris Tipolt of Pontiac, Mich.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Jeannie Hubbard of Royalton.
Her parents; two infant daughters; a brother, Eugene Moore; sisters-in-law, Lelia Vaughn and Mary Morris, brothers-in-law, Virgil Howell, Ray Jenkins, Noble Vaughn, Lee Gulledge, Walter Kammler and a stepdaughter, Carletta Grant also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Marks was a member of the Royalton First Church of the Nazarene and had faithfully served for over 50 years. She had formerly worked at clothing factories in Du Quoin and Herrin (Smoller Brothers). She was also a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was known for her contagious laughter, big smile and loving nature.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marks will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Royalton First Church of the Nazarene, Route 149 west of Royalton with Pastor David Sorensen and Bro. Harold Ewell officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church and after 8 a.m. Monday until the time of the services.
