Obituary: Anna Mae Greer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Anna Mae Greer, 93, longtime resident of Gallatin County, died peacefully on May 28, 2012, in the Fountainview Nursing Home.

Anna Mae was born in Junction on June 13, 1918, to the late James and Mary (Willis) Walters. On Oct. 5, 1940, she married the love of her life, Delmar F. Greer, who preceded her in death in 2000. Anna Mae was a lifelong and faithful member of the Junction First Baptist Church. She had retired from Bradley Brothers Oil Co., loved to cook, garden and her church. She was the true meaning of the word "lady" and was very witty. But her most cherished times was being with her family whom she loved so deeply. She was a wonderful wife, good mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed.

Anna Mae is survived by two daughters, Janet and Ed Thacker of Eldorado and Jeanie and Mike Cox of Ridgway; two grandchildren, Tammy (Bruce) Arnold and Michael (Angie) Cox; four great-grandchildren, Peyton and Noah Arnold and Jonathon and Gracie Cox; two sisters, Laura (Jack) Edwards of Norris City and Doris (Charles) Morten of Equality; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Harrison, Delbert, John, Hiram and Everett Walters; and two sisters, Nancy Sheppard and Edith Beard.

Visitation for Anna Mae will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, with the Rev. Larry Lewis and the Rev. Roy Dale Orr officiating. Interment will follow in the Hogan Cemetery south of Shawneetown. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Golden Circle or the Hogan Cemetery.
