John Michael 'Mike' McNear

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John Michael "Mike" McNear, 59, of 590 Fifth St., Omaha, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Mt. Vernon Nursing Center in Mt. Vernon, Ind.

He was born in Eldorado on May 18, 1950, to Vernon and Augusta Maine (Newby) McNear.

Mike was employed at the Omaha Furniture Store in Omaha. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Mike is survived by his sister, Brenda and Ralph Mayberry of Norris City; and by his brother, Ronnie McNear of Longview, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and five brothers.

Visitation for Mike was held from 11 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha. The Rev. Geneda Cox officiated the service. Burial was at Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway with military rites by the Ridgway American Legion Post No. 596. Internet condolences may be made at the Web site www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
