New Bedford land eyed for casino

Growing talk of legalizing casinos in Massachusetts has revived efforts to bring a casino to New Bedford, a location that would compete directly with Middleboro for the region's gambling dollars.

A western Massachusetts firm has secured 80 acres of property on the New Bedford waterfront and is seeking to lure a casino developer to begin planning a project there.
