Obituary: Donald Mack Barger

Donald Mack Barger, 75, of Harrisburg passed away at 10:01 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Donald was born on June 22, 1939 in Harrisburg to the late Lacey and Louvena McClendon Barger. Don was divorced many years ago and had no children of his own. Don served 3 years in the Army from November 1960 through October 1964 as a helicopter mechanic with a tour in South America. He worked for his sister and her husband in their business. He also ran a business (Reban's) for some time in Carbondale then worked at the Bowen Center both in Centralia and Harrisburg. He also worked for the Harrisburg City Water Department. He went to the Phoenix, Arizona area for many years working as a sandblaster then ran a horse riding ranch. He spent his happiest years in Arizona.

Donald is survived by his sister: Linda "Susie" (Bob) Yates of Harrisburg; three brothers: Charles Frederick (JoAnn) Barger of Collinsville, George Alfred (Patricia) Barger of St. Louis, Missouri, and Stephen Ray (Karen) Barger of North Charleston, South Carolina; twenty nine nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Edna Gene (Gene) Haile, Mary Alice (Ron) Hoskin and Carolyn Diane (Clark "Don") Vineyard.
