Prep Softball: Harrisburg starts out SIRR Ohio play with win over West Frankfort

Harrisburg improved to 12-1 on the season and went to 1-0 in SIRR Ohio Conference play with a 5-0 win over West Frankfort Monday.

Kerrigan Payne (10-1) picked up the win, pitching the shutout, while scattering four hits and striking out 10.

The Bulldogs plated a run in the first inning and then scored four more in the sixth.

Abbey Stacey and Payne were both 2-for-3 at the plate, while Liza Wiggins and Kinzleigh Smothers each finished 1-for-3.

Harrisburg was scheduled to play at Benton Thursday and will be at Carmi-White County Saturday.
