Joan L. Duncan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Joan L. Duncan, 83, 125 W. Poplar St., Harrisburg, died 7:08 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born on March 12, 1928, in Stonefort to the late William Loren and Pauline Victoria (Johnson) Borum. She married William Lowell Duncan in 1964, and he preceded her in death in 1970.

She was a homemaker and caregiver to the elderly.

She is survived by two sons, William "Billy" Duncan and Joe Duncan, both of Harrisburg; two daughters, Michele Gribble and Brenda Duncan, both of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Christi Birk, Rebecca Birk, Aaron Mitchell, Cody Duncan, Nicholas Duncan, Alybeth Gribble, William Gribble and Lauryn Gribble; and two great-grandchildren, Adrian Birk and Jasper Birk.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and sister, Mary Katherine Felty.
