Prep Baseball: Lions hold Eldorado to one hit in win

A six-run third inning broke the game open for Johnston City as the Indians posted a 11-0 shut out win over Eldorado in the season opener Monday at the EHS Sports Complex.

The Eagles (0-1, 0-1 BDC) used three pitchers on the day, giving up a combined seven hits.

Anderson Woolcott got the start and went 2.1 innings, allowing five runs on two hits, while striking out five and walking four.

Chase Kittinger gave up three runs on two hits over one inning, while walking four and striking out two and Trevor Milligan went 1.2 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits, while walking four.

Offensively, Eldorado had just two hits on the day as Dylan Henshaw and Milligan each registered a single. Dylan Vaughn had the lone walk for the Eagles, who finished the day with nine strikeouts.

Eldorado was held to one hit, a fifth inning single by Trevor Milligan, who also scored the lone run for the Eagles in a 9-1 non-conference loss Wednesday afternoon.

Milligan scored on a Jake Phelps ground out in the same inning.

Milligan was also part of a trio of pitchers the Eagles used against the Lions. Parker Price got the start and went three innings, giving up four runs (three earned), while striking out seven and walking seven.

Milligan came on in relief and went 2.1 innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits, while walking two and striking out one. Chase Kittinger also walked two and struck out one, while giving up two runs (unearned) on no hits.
