Prep Softball/Baseball: Solid Representation

The Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference recently released its softball and baseball All-Conference Team for the Ohio Division, where Herrin was highlighted on the softball side and Benton was well represented on the baseball side.

Herrin's Haley Hunter, Kelsey Lentz, Mackenzie Ray, Lexi Chrostoski, Makayla Smothers and Rebecca Moffett, while Massac County's Jordyn Smith, Jessie Lamb, Jessie Douglas and Graycn McBride were named All-Conference in softball.

West Frankfort put four players on the list, including Jacklynn Calvert, Mackenzie Campbell, Sarah Aldridge and Kiarha Wilce, while Benton put Katie Sandusky, Ally Gischer and Taylor Mosely on the team.

Harrisburg landed two on the All-Conference team as senior Whitney Younger was joined by sophomore Mckenzie Sullivan.

Murphysboro rounded out the team with Jenna Dietz, Taylor Hazel and Mykkayla Brasel.

Benton, who won the baseball side of the conference this season, was representd by six Rangers. Gus Gibbs, Martin Ward, Dakota Head, Dillan Chamness, Levi Pearce and Derek Oxford were all named to the team.

West Frankfort put five players on the team as Hunter Hancock, Chase McLaren, Hunter Pulley, Dalton O'Connor and Kyle Saillez represented the Redbirds.

Massac County's Bruce McClellan, Tyler Jennings, Jay Benard and J.T Ward, joined three Harrisburg Bulldogs, including Sykes Thompson, Austin Hefner and Matthew Phipps.

Herrin was represented by Aaron Cheatham, Mitch Enyart and Jon Marc Warren and Muphysboro landed Landon Harris, Dylan Brasel and Matt Burke.
