Lesbian mom advocates for broader family education in schools

Virginia Gaffey wants the Milton School Department to rethink its approach toward the subject of alternative families.

She is a lesbian, and her 9-year-old daughter has suffered harassment and bullying at school. Last month, the girl was surrounded by six boys and girls who punched and shoved her at recess because of her mother's sexual orientation.
