Prep Boys Hoops: Harrisburg hammers West Frankfort in SIRR clash
Harrisburg put three players in double figures in a 61-38 SIRR Ohio win over West Frankfort Friday night at famed Max Morris Gymnasium.
Harrisburg senior Michael Godsey led all scorers with 19 points, scoring 12 in the first half. Cameron Ande, who had 11 first half points, scored 17 in the game, while Nate Lawrence tacked on 12 points.
Chris Allen chipped in with six points and Myles Crank had a fourth quarter 3-pointer on a night when Harrisburg drilled eight treys.
Karmello Downey and Ross Rider each tossed in two points.
Harrisburg and West Frankfort played back-and-forth basketball in the early going, with the Redbirds holding an early 6-4 lead. The Bulldogs would then go on a 15-2 run and close out the first quarter up 19-8.
The Bulldogs built a 25-8 advantage in the second, before the Redbirds got back on the scoreboard after a free throw by Drew Smith. Harrisburg went into the locker room up 33-18 and never looked back.
<b>Hamilton County 50, Eldorado 38</b>
Hamilton County pulled away from Eldorado, outscoring the Eagles 14-8 in the final eight minutes to earn a 50-38 victory over Eldorado in Black Diamond Conference action Friday inside Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.
Hamilton County (20-3) grabbed an early 12-11 lead and led 25-22 at the break. In the third quarter, the Foxes outscored EHS 11-8.
Eldorado (14-8 overall, 2-4 BDC) got a team-high 11 points from Parker Price, while Brock Cantrell tacked on 10 points.
Boston Bradley added eight points for the Eagles, while Josh Owens finished with four points. Dylan Henshaw tacked on three points and Gage Heath tossed in two points.
