OBITUARY: Cletus Gass

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cletus Gass, 80, of McLeansboro, passed away at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the funeral home, with Brothers Robert Sefried and Richard Hart officiating. The burial will take place at Antioch Cemetery in Macedonia.

Cletus was born Oct. 21, 1931 in Macedonia to Edgar Gass and Alta (Drake) Gass. He married his wife, Lelia Fay (Cluck) Gass, Oct. 21, 1950. She preceded him in death April 12, 1993.

Cletus was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Dale.

He worked as a farmer, but loved cat-fishing and woodworking.

Cletus is survived by two sons, Charles Gass of McLeansboro and Val Gass and wife Jeanette of McLeansboro; two daughters, LaNora Nichols and husband Randy of Calvert City, Ky., Becky Barr and husband Keith of McLeansboro; three grandsons, Danny Nalley and wife Mandy of McLeansboro, Marcus Nalley and wife Felicia of McLeansboro and Bobby Gass of McLeansboro; two granddaughters, Mariah Barr and Caitlyn Barr of McLeansboro; one great-granddaughter, Jaycee Nalley; and one sister, Emogene Gass and husband Vernon of Macedonia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
