Orval 'Boonie' Karnes Jr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Orval "Boonie" Karnes Jr., 72, Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Shawnee Rose Care Center, Harrisburg.

He was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Harrisburg, the son of Orval W. and Mamie Bloom Karnes.

He was a retired Harrisburg city employee.

Survivors include one sister, Almedia Bryant of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Donald and Bill Karnes; and one sister, Bernice Horton.

Graveside services will precede burial at 1 p.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011. There will be no visitation and those attending should go directly to the cemetery. The J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
