Andrew Joseph 'Joe' Zimmer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Andrew Joseph "Joe" Zimmer, 73, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.

Joe was born in Ridgway on July 12, 1937, to Andrew Lawrence and Catherine M. (Litzler) Zimmer.

He was a meteorologist and retired from the National Weather Service. He was an avid golfer and loved his grandchildren. Joe was an Air Force Veteran.

Joe is survived by his wife, Janice; a son, Don Donnell of Eldorado; two daughters, Judy (Wesley) Stevens of Eldorado and Johnna Vaughn of Eldorado; two sisters, Martha Biggerstaff Zimmer and Margaret Zimmer; a brother, John Richard Zimmer; and 12 grandchildren, Joey (Dezirae) Stevens, Jonathan (Sera) Stevens, Eric (Penny) Vaughn, Tim Vaughn, Destiny Donnell, Rickey Vaughn, Moriah Vaughn, Dylan Vaughn, McKagger Ferrell, Harley Stevens, Brooklyn Beckham and Kamdyn Stricklin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters; five brothers; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Ferrell.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Wolf Creek Cemetery. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the Internet site www.colonialterracefuneralhome.com.
