Frieda C. Allen

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Frieda C. Allen, 89, of Galatia, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1921, in West End to James Logan and Nancy (Harker) Kelley. Frieda was married to James E. Allen, who preceded her in July of 1992.

She was a member of the Union Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Frieda is survived by a daughter, Donna (Bob) Kruse of Palm Springs, Calif.; two grandchildren, James Larry Estes and Kelley Kay (Mark) Creek; four great-grandchildren; and through a extended family, five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Charles "Moe" Malone.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; and a sister, Violet Malone.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Sloan Funeral Home of Galatia with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Brushy Cemetery at Harco. The Rev. Jerry Williams and the Rev. Kevin Peyton will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
