Obituary: Lovetta Fern Stevens

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lovetta Fern Stevens, 80, of Collinwood Tenn., formerly of Galatia, passed away at 3:08 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at her home in Collinwood.

She was born in Eagle Creek on Oct. 9, 1931, to Johnny and Margaret "Maggie" Truman Goben Mitchell, who both preceded her in death.

She had three brothers, W.H. Mitchell, who died in infancy, John "Jack" Mitchell Jr. (wife Laverne, who survives) and Jim Mitchell (wife Patsy, who survives); and one sister, Juanita Mitchell, who died at the age of 15. Her brother, Harold Mitchell, survives.

She was married to William "Bill" Wilson Stevens on Sept. 7, 1950; they had one son, Arnold Mark Stevens. They both preceded her in death.

She is survived by two grandsons, Arnold Mark Stevens Jr. (wife Molly) of Collinwood Tenn. and Johnathon Ramsey Stevens (husband Xavier Mendez Stevens) of Los Angeles, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Zane Cole, Bryan Dale Williams, Cody Levi Stevens (who preceded her in death), Kaylee Nicole Stevens and Dillon Thomas Estep; and two great-great-grandsons, Randy Price Stevens and Cody Levi Stevens Jr. She was always Grandma, Granny or Aunt Lovetta to everyone in her life.

Blake Bradley will officiate; services will be at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, and burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Raleigh.
