Samuel D. Ewell
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Samuel D. Ewell, 78, Galatia, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Floral City, Fla.
He was born in Mayberry on Sept. 22, 1932, to Dee and Alma Ewell.
Sam was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Ewell of Richland, Ind.; a son, Doug Ewell of Evansville, Ind.; three stepchildren, Robert Turner of Floral City, Fla., Terry Turner of Tennessee and Tim Nelson of Inverness, Fla.; several grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Jim Pittman of Galatia.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Smart's Chapel Community Church, 2 1/2 miles west of Harco, with Pastor Bob Workman officiating.
