</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Johnnie D. Jones, 73, 314 E. Sycamore St., Ridgway, died 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at his residence.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Equality Social Brethren Church with the Rev. Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado and noon to service time Thursday at the church.

He was born in Eldorado on Feb. 1, 1937, in Eldorado to Floyd Benjamin and Maggie Mae (Stiles) Jones. On Sept. 14, 1956, he married Mary Sue Jones, who preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2001.

He was a coal miner at Peabody coal mines and was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Equality Social Brethren Church.

He is survived by a son, Nickie D. Jones of Creal Springs; three daughters, Dwanna (Hershel) Smith of Omaha, Connie (David) Dishman of Eldorado and Denise (Steve) Thorne of Eldorado; a half-brother, Gary Wayne Jones of Shawneetown; a sister, Marion Wargel of Eldorado; a half-sister, Sharon Aileen Jones of Chicago; also a special sister-in-law, Betty Jones; six grandchildren, William P. Fann, Jonathan G. Fann, Jaime Shaw, Jeremy Shaw, Kristal Whitmer (step) and Haylie Finnley; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard D. Jones; a brother, Floyd Eugene Jones; and a sister, Bernice Sauls.
