Eldorado Rotary hears from Chaos Divers

The Eldorado Rotary Club welcomed Jacob Grubbs and members of the Chaos Divers team as guest speakers last week to share their work in underwater search and recovery.

Chaos Divers travels the country using advanced sonar technology and specialized recovery training to assist families searching for missing loved ones believed to be underwater with their vehicles. The group provides all services at no cost, does not accept rewards, and operates entirely through social media support and private donations.

Grubbs, a Harrisburg native, founded Chaos Divers after learning sonar skills from a mentor who encouraged him to use his training to help families seeking answers. The team has conducted searches throughout the Midwest and beyond, including efforts in Evansville; locations in Mississippi and Missouri; the Chicago area; and multiple sites in southern Illinois. Their cases range from recent disappearances to investigations more than 40 years old, and their work has helped bring more than 20 missing individuals home, offering closure to families.

Traveling as a unit, Jacob, Lindsay Bussick, her husband Erik Bussick, and their son Garrett Bussick partner closely with families and law enforcement agencies. The team documents their searches to educate the public, raise awareness, and help generate the support needed to fund equipment, travel, and ongoing operations.

The Eldorado Rotary Club meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at noon at Dad’s BBQ and is currently accepting new members. For membership information, email eldorado.rotary@outlook.com, find them on Facebook, or speak with any current member.
