Prep Baseball: Eagles fall to Edwards Co. in home DH
Eldorado dropped a pair of Black Diamond Conference games, losing 8-2 and 4-3 to Edwards County Thursday at the EHS Sports Complex.
In the 8-2 Game 1 loss, Parker Price (1-) took the loss on the mound, working two innings and allowing five runs (three earned) on one hit, while striking out four and walking two.
Trevor Milligan pitched two innings of relief work, allowing one run (unearned) on two hits with one walk. Ryne Cox allowed two runs on two hits, while striking out two and one walk over three innings.
Edwards County jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first inning and added two runs in the second, one run in the fourth and two more in the fifth inning.
Eldorado had just two hits on the afternoon against Lions starter Kaden Cowling as Price had a first inning home run and Anderson Woolcott had a sixth inning single.
In the 4-3 Game 2 loss, the Eagles tried to rally late in a one-run loss.
Eldorado had just three hits on the afternoon as Price went 2-for-4 with a double, a pair of RBI and a run scored, while Dylan Vaughn was 1-for-2.
Jake Phelps and Eli Ralson also had a run scored.
Anderson Woolcott went the distance in the win, allowing four runs on four hits with nine strikeouts and three walks.
Eldorado falls to 2-6 on the season and are now 0-2 in Black Diamond Conference Play.
The Eagles were scheduled to play Hardin County Monday and host Fairfield Tuesday in a BDC matchup. On Thursday, EHS makes the trip to Fairfield to close out the week.
